Fiesta Riders Take Home Great Ribbons in Virginia

Fiesta riders Rachel Coffey, Mary Emily Christiansen, and Martha Cook competed at the Stonewall Country Horse Show I at the Virginia Horse Center, February 4-6. Each of the girls was competing on a fairly new horse, so their strong showing was even more impressive. The show was very well attended, with huge entries in a number of the divisions.

Martha Cook rode her new horse, "Hawthorne" in the 3' Children's Hunter Division. She won a second and a fifth place out of ten, and qualified for the flat phase of the Virginia Horse Shows Association’s Children’s Medal class by riding a great round over fences in the first phase. Martha was in the top 10 in the two-round Hunter Classic as well. In Open Hunter, she and "Guppy" placed fifth out of more than 25 riders.

Mary Emily has only been riding "Make Me Smile" for a couple of weeks but still collected a blue ribbon in the Special Children’s Hunter division. She also received high ribbons in the Equitation Classes, as did Martha.

Rachel Coffey was suffering from the flu, but still managed to do very well on her large pony, Cedar Spring Pen Pal. Rachel has now earned 10 of the 30 points she needs to participate in the USEF national Pony Final’s Pony Medal to be held in Lexington, KY in August.

Rachel also earned great ribbons doing her first, very competitive, Large Pony Division.

Congrats to all!

Look for Fiesta riders at March shows, including Virginia Intermont or Aiken, S.C. Following that, we will be competing at "A" shows in Cleveland, TN and we are all looking forward to the first East Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association shows of 2005.

It's Know-Down Time at Fiesta Farm!
